What Books Are You Reading?

22 Jun

A fun meme for you:

  1. What book are you currently reading?
  2. What book is next?

Post your books below — and yes, you can definitely list more than one.  It was so hard to choose!  Here are mine:

Now: The Dig, by Michael Siemsen and Squire & Lady Knight by Tamora Pierce.  These last two I’m rereading.  All three are omniscient viewpoint.

Next: A tossup between The Lost Goddess (awesome cover!) by Tom Knox, Alpha Rising by G.L. Douglas, and The Secret Crown by Chris Kuzneski (also omniscient viewpoint).  The first two are new authors for me, and the third is one I’ve read and enjoyed.  Mostly.  We won’t discuss the ultra violent The Plantation.

Currently re-reading William Gibson’s Neuromancer, then I’m going on my honeymoon for three weeks so I’ve got a stack of 10 classic sci-fi novels lined up on my Kindle ready to go. Sightseeing? Pah!

I haven’t picked it up in a while because I haven’t been reading much lately, but I’m working on Journey to the West, which is one of the inspirations for my WIP. I’m not sure what’s after that…maybe another book in either the Dray Prescot or Honor Harrington series.

I’m often reading a non-fiction and fiction book at the same time so I can switch according to the mood.

My non-fiction book is Danny Iny’s How to Build a Blog (Create Awesome Content and Build Community). The fiction book is Philippa Ballantine’s wonderful fantasy book Geist (first of a trilogy). She also writes Steampunk books and her novel won the Airship Award for that genre.
